![]() Philip is clearly attached to his brother, we see how close they were in the portraits of his memories. (Maybe his motif is embodied in focusing on the creation of Abominations so others can follow suit as a teacher?) toh analysis toh magicīelos/Philip and his relationship with his brother Caleb is so interesting and deeply fucked. On another note, one could interpret Bump’s Abomination magic taking the most basic and classic form to be representative of his thing with traditions and being ‘old-school’, but that’s a stretch.Īnd I’m not even sure how the Abomination Professor would have a motif, beyond centering his creations and students around himself, either directly carrying him or vying for his approval? Not really caring for either beyond what he can get from them? Harshly judging both students and his creations, making them work to meet his ludicrous standards…? That’s an even bigger stretch! Makes you wonder if Darius will also have a similar motif of adaptability… Alador also has this, considering he was able to work with Amity’s rebellion to his favor, even if his Abominations are more characterized by rigid metal and machinery. But I guess Bump being able to adapt and become a good leader anyways embodies a fluid motif from Abominations, similar to Amity and her arc of change! I’ve speculated since I was a Teenage Abomination that the Abomination track encourages leadership skillsets, hence why it has more opportunities, either in general or compared to Plants.īeing able to command an army of abominations might transfer to guiding and molding an entire school of students… Though kids aren’t meant to be mindless soldiers, even if they ARE pretty grimy and messy and horrific. I really love palisman magic i love palisman lore so thats another reason why hunting palismen and eclipse lake are two of my favorite episodes toh the owl house toh analysis toh magic analysis alec talks every time i start thinking about wild magic i always end up thinking about these lil dudesĪside from being a callback to his debut, Bump being in the Abomination Coven connects to his role as a principal, I think! If she knew, then she would have started using Owlbert more for this after she lost her magic (And in fact, she seems to barely been using Owlbert recently) ![]() Like, Eda, THE most powerful witch on the Boiling Isles and infamous wild witch doesn’t seem to know about it. It really sticks with me how wild magic being explored in the show has the theme of discovering lost knowledge, the recovery of what was assumed to have been lost and is actively shut down by the people in powerĪnd it’s not only with glyphs, it’s also about things like palisman magic, because because not that many witches seem to have it anymore and the ones who do have don’t seem to fully understand their powers, possibly because they already have their bile sac magic supporting them to realize how powerful palismen by themselves can be
